The German pension system is one of the pillars of the German social security and a topic which is very present in the minds of the general public and the voters. The demographic change that will emerge during the next decade forces politics to think about the future sustainability of the German pension scheme – and how to move it onto a stable foundation.
hbpa asked the pension policy rapporteur of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, MoP Peter Weiß for his assessment of the situation and of possible reforms.
